Sustaining Curricula 2021
This spring, the Center for Engaged Pedagogy in partnership with the Sustainable Practices Committee invites you to four virtual sessions. These sessions are designed not only to support faculty in their efforts to integrate environment, sustainability and climate change into curricula, but also to think about interdisciplinary ways to structure collaboration across departments, e.g. funded, team-taught courses.
Each session will begin with a panel and Q&A facilitated by students and end with a workshop component. The panel component of each session will be open to faculty and students, and will feature the speakers listed below. In the workshop component of each session, faculty will be divided into small groups in order to workshop their syllabi. Please find the details for each virtual session below.
- Theorizing the Environment, Wednesday, March 10th, 12:00-1:30pm, with speakers Hilary Callahan, Carl Wennerlind, and Orlando Bentancor
- Climate Change and the Anthropocene, Friday, March 19th, 1:30-3:00pm, with speakers Jon Snow, Maria Rivera Maulucci, Andrew Crowther, and Angelo Caglioti
- Environmental Justice, Friday, March 26th, 11:00am - 12:30pm, with speakers Elizabeth Cook, Manu Karuka, and Angela Simms
- Design Decarbonization, Tuesday, March 30th, 2:00pm-3:30pm, with speakers Kadambari Baxi, Martin Stute, and Sandra Goldmark
