Faculty Resources

Our Approach

At the CEP, we do not separate faculty teaching support from student learning support. Rather, we approach teaching and learning as joint processes that inform the Barnard community as a whole. We are committed to inclusive and innovative pedagogical practices that acknowledge diverse ways of knowing, forms of expertise, and academic pathways. Centering this approach, we intend to push the boundaries of pedagogical scholarship and our own community’s expertise to generate new teaching and learning that prepare Barnard specifically and higher education more broadly to critically engage and transform our ever-changing world.

In response to the pedagogical implications of the COVID-19 pandemic while also drawing from the CEP’s commitment to our principles, we have curated and developed materials on teaching and learning for this critical moment. This moment raises questions about accessibility, equity, grading, and how to approach engaged pedagogy during periods of sustained crisis. These materials cover topics ranging from asynchronous learning to trauma in the classroom. We offer Barnard-specific resources as well as resources from other institutions and organizations.
